A crazy, good idea overcame me last year. I thought it would be awesome to donate a decorated tree to our local Festival of Trees! (All trees are donated – and then auctioned off, with proceeds going to help patients being treated at the Primary Childrens Hospital here in Salt Lake City)
Alas – my idea came too late – and I was too busy to pull it off in time. However – I knew there was hope for 2013! Which brings me to today’s post. I have purchased an artificial tree (prelit), and a tree skirt, and a tree topper . I plan to make some ornaments (out of soap, of course) – and I have chosen the theme of snowflakes and snowmen.
I also purchased hundreds (yikes) of styrofoam snowmen and pinecone ornaments which need to be painted in preparation for this years tree. The ornaments don’t need to be elaborately painted – but they should be nice enough to hang on the tree. What I need is helping hands. If you are local – and have a group of youth or adults who want to get together and help paint these ornaments – let me know!! (I plan to take a bunch to my family’s reunion this summer – and we can sit and visit while we paint!)
Message me with the following info:
1. How many styrofoam ornaments you want to paint
2. If you need paints – or have your own (traditional red/green/white/gold are the main colors; brown for the pinecones – acrylic is probably best).
We can then coordinate a drop off/pick up date/time. Hoping to have all ornaments painted and back in my hands by early Fall.
If you have paints to donate or other items that could help decorate beneath the tree – message me as well. Thanks in advance!
